Alice in an old castle 古城の国のアリス

So let's begin with "Kojo no kuni no Alice(Alice in an old castle)"in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. It just opened last year so it's pretty new. I'd always wanted to go here and I finally did recently!

池袋にある「古城の国のアリス」です！
ダイアモンドダイニング系列で、確か2012年にオープンしたばっかりだと思います。
ずっと行きたくて、ようやく行ってきました～！

So the location is in Ikebukuro East Area. It takes about 5-7 min walk from Ikebukuro station. It's on B1 floor in the building right next to a big book store, Junku-do. It was easy to find. 
まず場所は池袋東口です。駅からケータイで地図見ながら歩いたりして5分～7分くらいで着きました。ジュンク堂という本屋さんの隣りのビルの地下１階です。わかりやすいですよ。

他のアリスのお店（銀座）よりも入口は広いです。お隣には「竹取物語」というこれまたテーマ・レストランがありました。
I found another theme restaurant called Taketori Story next to Alice. Maybe I should go next time?

↓A male waiter with bunny ears said welcome when I was taking pictures so I entered the restaurant. 
Here's the hall and chandelier ish thing! The doors in the right pic are rest rooms. Lovely lovely.
写真撮ってたら、ウサギの耳をつけたお兄さんに「いらっしゃいませ」と声をかけられたので、中に入りました。

そしてこの廊下です。ＨＰで見たより可愛いと思いました！右の写真のドアはお手洗いです。

 

案内された席は女王クリスタル舞踏会というスペースで、これまたシャンデリアのある豪華な場所でした。テーブルはこんな感じ。このスペースの壁際はプチ個室みたいになっていてカップルには良さそうですね。壁にはこんな仮面も。アリスとの繋がりは謎ですが、きっと雰囲気作りですね。ちなみに１人テーブル料500円・サービス料10％かかります。学生にはちょっと高いのは否めません。。もうちょっと安くしてくれれば頻繁に行きたいです。

I was seated in the "Queen's Cristal Ball" area. They have a chandelier here too and it was fabulous. Tables are separated as group of two or four. I guess if I was in a bigger group it'd be other area. Tables on side were kinda like private rooms (not covered completely but separated with curtain)  I was on side.　There was an ornament like this(a mask) in the right pic. I think it has nothing to do with Alice but you know, it looks "cooler" they say haha
They charge 500 yen and 10% service fee.

「スペードに隠されたひみつ」オレンジとピーチの味 880円を頼みました！
I ordered a drink "Secrets hidden under the Spade"　880yen

光るんですねー！光るキューブが入っていました☆　照明の効果もあってか、超きれいでした。
Omg it glows!! Its taste was great too.

前菜「ハート」　480円 味はまあまあ。量も少なくちょっと高いと感じました。ま、前菜なのでしょうがないですね!
Apetiser "Heart" It's arugula and tomato with basil sauce. It was alright. I should've chose "Spade" instead of heart!

パスタを頼みました！
「ホワイトラビットのファンファーレ！」980円
"Fanfare of the White Rabbit" 990yen

見た目は超かわいい！！それだけで満足でした。
が、お味は普通。量も少なめ。家で作るカルボナーラって感じですね。もう一歩おいしければいいのになあ。
It is so cuteee! I was already satisfied with just that but if I comment on food, it tasted so so. It's like what I can cook at home level. The amount was also small, Japanese-size. But again it's Japan so I guess it can't be helped!

そして、デザートに古城の国のアリスオリジナルメニューといっておすすめされたのでこちらを頼みました！
「マッドハッターのガトーショコラ」680円
At last, I ordered a dessert. It's their very original menu (other menu are apparently copied from the other Alice restaurants they said lol ) and their recommendation too so I chose this.
"The Mad Hatter's gateau chocolat" 680yen

 

これまた可愛い～！個人的にこれが一番おいしかったかな。ソースもキウイとイチゴ味があって、おいしかったです。
This is super cute too. I personally liked this most. It has kiwi and strawberry sauce and was good!


食べ終わったらすぐお会計のトレーを持ってこられました。なんか違和感。。テーブル会計制は全然いいんだけど、食べ終わってすぐ持ってこられたので不思議でした。ｗ　空いてたのに。
お会計　3800円ほどでした。１人で。。やっぱり、高い。コースで頼んでもテーブル・サービス料かかるから同じくらいなんだよねえ。微妙なところ。やっぱりすごく可愛いから、誕生日会とか特別なオケージョンだったら価値あるって感じですね。あくまでも１学生の私の意見なので社会人の方ならさほど問題ないのでしょうがｗ
ちなみに平日の18時くらいに行きましたが、とても空いていました。土日などは念のための予約をおすすめします。

Right after I finished the dessert, the waiter put the check on the table without asking me anything.. Like I have to leave now.. They were very nice and the restaurant wasn't crowded at all so I was just wondering why they did that.lol Btw, we don't usually pay on table in Japan. We pay at the counter when we leave.
AND,  the check was.... 3800 yen.
I recommend you go here on someone's bday or anniversary cause it does have good atmosphere, especially for girly girls it's like paradise.
I went here at 6pm on a weekday so it was empty but if you go on weekend you should probably make a reservation just to be safe.
